Discovery Night

Each year our students in grades 5-8 participate in the Rhema science fair called Discovery Night. This is a time for each student to be curious, investigate a topic, and design an experiment where they can follow the scientific method. It is an opportunity to study something in God’s world that leads to questioning, research, and experimentation.  Discovery Night is integrated into our science curriculum at Rhema where the students work through the scientific process from October through March. The goal of this science showcase is to provide an opportunity for students to apply science and math content while igniting a desire for advanced learning in STEM by following the scientific method. At the March Science Fair, students exhibit their findings on a presentation board, including a research paper, and display hands-on materials. This is an excellent occasion to capture the interest of students to explore activities that encourage advancement as they begin to plan for their future education and careers.
